ESSAY QUESTIONS:

High School: (Two pages long, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font at 11-point size)

The potential ban of TikTok in the United States has sparked nationwide debate, raising questions about national security, free speech, and the influence of social media on young people. Supporters argue that banning TikTok protects user data from foreign influence, while opponents see it as a violation of digital freedom and a move that disproportionately affects young creators and businesses. As a high school student in the digital age, what do you believe are the broader implications of banning a widely used social media platform like TikTok? Would such a ban set a precedent for government control over digital spaces, or is it a necessary step to ensure national security? Use examples from history, technology policy, or personal experience to support your argument.

College: (Two and half pages long, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font at 11-point size)

Across the United States, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives have been at the center of national conversations, shaping policies in education, workplaces, and government. Some view these efforts as necessary steps toward racial and social justice, while others argue that they create division or limit free expression. As a college student, how have DEI policies or conversations impacted your education and community? In your essay, discuss both the positive and negative effects of DEI shifts in schools, workplaces, or public policy. How should the next generation of leaders approach equity work to ensure meaningful and lasting progress?
