ORIGINAL:

100, E100 & C100 Brothers along with Other Supporters,
For the past two weeks, the St. Louis Chapter has been involved in many collaborative meetings with several other community organizations focusing on Short and Long term strategies to address the systemic challenges inside and outside of the African American Community that led to the Michael Brown tragedy…..and we will continue our participation in those efforts!

But on Monday, August 25th, the day Michael Brown will be laid to rest, we have accepted the call to be one of the primary leaders in a SILENT, PEACEFUL AND RESPECTFUL march honoring the memory of Michael Brown and supporting a full, honest & impartial investigation for the Family and community regarding this tragic incident!

So at this time and on this day…Monday, August 25th at 4pm….we are requesting ALL 100, E100 & C100 Brothers along with Other Supporters to participant in a peaceful, silent and respectful march of solidarity for the Brown Family and all males/females killed by unwarranted violence!  We are also sending this request to ALL 100 Black Men Chapters across the U.S., London and South Africa, including our National Office, to show some sign of support at 4:00pm on Monday August 25th, by either placing a sign in your window or office or maybe by saying a prayer for the Brown Family.  We understand everyone cannot march but we all can support a fair and just process regarding this tragedy!
Other leadership organizations invited to participate in this march are the Clergy Coalition, local MLK Center representatives, local NAACP Chapters, the Nation of Islam, Urban League, Black Leadership Round Table, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Local Pan-Hellenic Council (Alphas, Kappas, Ques, Deltas, Sigmas and several other Greek organizations) including other ”high profile ” churches in Ferguson.  We expect several thousand participants in this March!
The March will begin at St. Mark’s Church (9950 Chambers Rd) and march to Ground zero (9300 West Florissant at Qwiktrip) and return to St. Mark’s Chuch - which is approximately 1.5 miles in total.  We will begin convening at 3:00 pm and there should be adequate parking around St. Marks Church and the surrounding area lots on Chambers Road.
The dialogue and conversations around race relations will and should continue….but on this day….at this time….we call for a peaceful, silent and respectful march honoring the memory of Mike Brown and support a full, open & impartial investigation of the incident!
We are asking all 100 members participating in the march to wear 100 clothing or attire (shirts, caps, pins) and other organizations to display your colors/attire!  Voter registration cards will be handed out during the march and positive signs saying ”Brown Family Stay Strong” will be displayed.
We pray and hope several of you will join us in this show of solidarity!
In Service,
Joseph
